Stila Smudge Crayon Waterproof Eye Color in Smoke Swatches

I love crayon cream eyeshadows.  They are so convient, quick, and easy to use. Stila makes one that claims to be a liner and shadow with primer built in (the official name for this is Smudge Crayon Waterproof Primer + Shadow + Liner).  It comes in 8 colors that range from black, dark brown, and navy blue to lighter colors like light shimmery pink and lavender.  I have Smoke to show you today.

Stila says:  A gel-based primer, shadow and liner that glides on with ease and stays in place until you say when! This unique formula is infused with emollients for smooth, comfortable application and provides long-lasting, bold color that won't fade or crease over time.

This is packaged in a twist-up colored pencil that matches the color of the shadow.  It has a sharpener hidden in one end so that you can give the crayon a sharper end to apply it as a liner, which is really nice.

Smoke is a medium taupey brown with a little khaki green with silver shimmer.  On the Sephora and Stila websites this looks like it would be a lighter color than it is.

This crayon is nice and creamy and glides on the lid beautifully.  The color applies well without any patchiness.  You have a little time to blend and smudge out the color, but once it sets it's not going anywhere.  I get about 4 hours of wear when I wear this as a eyeshadow without a primer before I see any creasing and fading.  I wish it lasted a little longer, but Stila only claims 6+ hours of wear, so I on my somewhat oily eyelids this seems quite decent.

Overall, I really like this crayon.  I think the formula is lovely and the color is a unique, sort of complex color that would work well on many skintones.
