Today I have swatches of four NARS eyeshadow duos. Three are no longer available (Arctic, Bysance, and Sea, Sex & Sun), and Mediteranee is still available. These duos often have unusual color combinations, so it's fun to use more than one duo at a time. They also offer many neutral colors that have more expected pairings.
First up is Arctic. It is composed of a dark silver shimmer with good color payoff and a soft texture, and a dark burgundy plum with shimmer and also good pigmentation.
Next is Bysance. It has a dark antiqued gold with shimmer, and a royal purple that looks almost violet blue in the pan. Both colors are soft, but the purple is somewhat sheer and tends to sheer out when blended on the eye.
Sea, Sex & Sun is a sheerer duo with a pastel spring green and a somewhat orangey gold. The gold in this duo is surprisingly similar to the gold in Bysance when swatched. Both colors have some shimmer. It is a little more difficult to get these to show up on the eyes because of both the light pigmentation and the light colors. However, I think this duo will be great for spring!
Finally, we have Mediteranee, which is available at NARS counters and Sephora. The NARS website describes this duo as "muted golden shimmer/blazing, burnt orange". These are highly pigmented (especially the orange) and soft.
I hope you enjoyed these swatches and they will inspire you to try some new color combinations!
