Happy Monkey Day!

Can you believe it's Monkey Day already?!  December 14th is Monkey Day, and it's the time to embrace all things simian.  It is celebrated all over the world, and is a day to enjoy everything monkey (and other primate) related.

This is a painting I have hanging in my house by rescued chimpanzee Kimie.
Kimie (who sadly died in 2011)

Some Monkey Day activity suggestions:  visit your local zoo and bond with some primates, watch Planet of the Apes or King Kong (original versions or remakes), read In the Shadow of Man by Jane Goodall, or swing from some trees.

I am currently walking around wearing monkey socks with a monkey in my pocket and eating a banana.

I think I've had this little dude since I was 7 or 8 years old!

Yum

And because this is a beauty blog, here's my face of the day:

How are you celebrating Monkey Day?

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go engage in some serious monkey business.

  1. I like your dedication to Monkey Day. I ate a banana earlier and didn't even know I was celebrating!
