A Little Luxury (Haul)
I bought some fancy makeup recently.
First, my little haul from Beautylish. If you are ever considering buying something from Beautylish (beautylish.com), you should totally do it. They have free 2-day shipping on orders over $35 USD. Everything was packed really carefully, and they even included a personalized note. Oh, and if you create an account, you receive a $10 off a $50 purchase promo coupon thingy.

The little bag was slightly ripped, but there was so much padding around it that there was no damage to anything. |

ColourPop Haul, Swatches, and Wee Review
Hi everyone! I hope the new year is treating you well! I thought we'd kick of a new year of blogging with a little haul.
I have jumped on the ColourPop bandwagon, and my package arrived in the mail a few days ago. The box was so incredibly carefully packed. Like every shadow was wrapped in foam and paper careful. I was definitely impressed. Unfortunately, I was too excited to open it to take a photo of how well they packed it, so you're just going to have to take my word for it. It came in a cute ColourPop box, and with a handwritten note. They also included a "tips and tricks" card.
ColourPop is a small (although quickly growing, I suspect) cosmetics company based in southern California. It is a cruelty-free company, and specializes in shadows/pigments and lip liners and lipsticks. All of their single products are $5 USD. All of them.

What's New?
First off, I apologize for the complete radio silence for the past couple of weeks, but I have been quite under the weather with a bout of bronchitis.
Anyhow, I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving (for those of you who celebrate!)! I had a very laid back day with my husband at home. Even though I am still feeling crummy, I did manage to make us a very mediocre Thanksgiving dinner.

Some very exciting news: we got a new furnace!

Old (ancient) furnace |
We put off buying one last year, but this year the yearly inspection revealed a crack in one of the face plates, which is pretty dangerous. Besides, the old furnace was built in 1983, and it was rather inefficient. I'm guessing it was older than many of you, dear readers! The new furnace is over 96% efficient and Energy Star rated. Fancy!
In other news, I bought some stuff during the Sephora sale (after my birthday was over, so I didn't include it in my birthday haul post). Unfortunately, I have been feeling so poorly that I haven't played with any of it yet.
So, that's what's new with me. How have you been?

Birthday Haulage
I got some stuff for my birthday. It was nice that the Ulta 20% off coupon and the Sephora VIB sale coincided with it.
From Ulta:
Olay Regenerist Serum: This is a staple in my skincare routine, and I was out of it. Not very exciting.
Olay Regenerist Cleansing Cloths: There were free with the serum. Not very exciting.
Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette: Very exciting.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Turn On: I have heard nothing but raves for this lip pencil, so I really wanted to try one. Turn On is a slightly pearlescent cool rose.
Japonesque Pro Performance Lipstick in 05: I haven't heard anything about these, but the color looked so pretty I decided to try it. This is a niiiiiiice lipstick. I'll try to do a review soon.
From Sephora:
Josie Maran Pure Argan Oil: A staple in my skincare routine. Not particularly exciting, but a nice, luxurious purchase.
Sephora Daily Makeup Brush Cleaner: A necessity. Not exciting.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna Palette: Very Exciting. I missed out on the Amrezy palette, but I'm now okay with that. I read that this one is better quality, and the colors and packaging are beautiful.
I kind of have eyeshadow palettes coming out my ears (great visual, right?), but they are my weakness.
I also got some sparkly Tarina Tarantino pink gumball earrings.
And, I got some free cereal bowls with the purchase of some cereal. I chose Tony the Tiger and Toucan Sam.
I bought a couple more things from the Sephora VIB sale which haven't arrived yet...
Yay for birthdays, right?

Little BFTE Haul
I was perusing the BFTE (Beauty From the Earth) website and stumbled across a blush named "Babycakes". Now, this might be too much information, but "babycakes" happens to be what my husband and I call each other. I showed him the blush, and he actually told me I had to get it. The fact that it is a pink blush with little sparkles that I knew I would love was just a bonus. So, I placed a little order with BFTE (which is an indie company that has mostly loose pigment eyeshadows, blushes, and mineral face products). Here's what I ordered:
I bought a full size Babycakes blush. The full size blushes come in 10 gram sifter jars with 2 grams of product.
Here is Babycakes blush on my face:
I also bought 3 sample eyeshadows: Miracle, Heat, and Harvest.
I've swatched the eyeshadows dry and over Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy for your viewing pleasure.
Harvest just seems like a perfect color for fall. And just look at Miracle. Look at it!
Like the other BFTE stuff I have, I am impressed by everything I ordered. Also, shipping and turn around time was incredibly fast.
BFTE has an absolutely amazing array of colors, and it's hard to choose just a few to buy. I want them all, of course.
Do you have anything from BFTE? What colors would you recommend?

Wee Sephora Haul and EotD
So, yeah, I bought the Kat Von D Monarch palette. If you are a regular reader, you know the Chrysalis palette became a fast favorite, and this one is no different.
I also cashed in some points for an Elizabeth and James Nirvana White rollerball.
Swarches:
Here's some eyes of the day using the palette:
I used summerfly (sparkling gold) all over the moving lid and lower lashline, papilio (shimmery brown) in the outer corner and crease and lower lashline, wrath (shimmery orange) above the crease, entomology (matte cream) under the brow, and tiny death (lightly glittery cream) in the inner corner. I also used L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly mascara, and a black eyeliner on the lower waterline.
Actually, maybe the size of this palette makes this haul kind of large.
Oh, and I bought this.
Heh heh.
