Affordable Face of the Day

I recently did a face of the day post using nothing but high end/expensive stuff, so I thought I'd do one using nothing but stuff available at the drugstore.

I thought I'd try to create a "bronze goddess" look, but I don't think I quite made it there.  Oh well.

My bangs are really weird.  That tends to happen when the temperatures and humidity rise.

Eyes: Maybelline Color Tattoo cream eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze on the moving lid and lower                                          lash line
Brown "crease" color from the Wet'n'Wild Comfort Zone palette lightly in the crease
L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Iced Latte in the inner corner
Milani Liquif'Eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil in Brown on the lower waterline
Sonia Kashuk Gel Eyeliner in Ebony on the upper lash line
          L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara

Brows: NYX Tame & Frame Brow Pomade in Chocolate

Face: Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse foundation
Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Air Brushing Pressed Powder SPF 30

Cheeks: Maybelline Master Hi-Light Hi-Lighting Bronzer in Light Bronze
Milani Powder Blush in Flora Passion
Wet'n'Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection Shimmer Palette in Rose Champagne Glow

from left: Maybelline Light Bronze Hi-Lighting bronzer, Milani Flora Passion blush, Wet'n'Wild Rose Champagne Glow Shimmer Palette

Lips: Rimmel Exaggerate Full Color Lip Pencil in Addiction
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Barely Bronze (limited edition, I think)
Rimmel Vinyl Bronze Mirror Shine Lipgloss (sadly discontinued)

I really like the Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse foundation.  I've repurchased it several times over the past few years.  I also like the Physicians Formula Mineral Wear powder because it has SPF 30.  It does have a glow-y finish, and I notice if I apply it too heavily I look a little overly shiny.

Drugstore/affordable makeup is so good these days, right?  What are some of your drugstore faves?

  1. I think it came out quite bronze goddess! And I'm such a fan of most of the products you used too, which is always nice to see! Love those Milani blushes - who can resist that rose imprint?!? And the Wet n Wild 8-pan palette never fails does it? I need to use that again soon as it's been quite a long time since I've used it!

  2. You've reached for a lot of my favorites here - the L'Oreal Infallible, the Voluminous Butterfly mascara, and Maybelline highlight in Light Bronze!

  3. Another beautiful look! I really like Physicians Formula powders. Sometimes, I wear mine just as a foundation.

  4. Your makeup looks are always perfection! Seriously. And I LOVE those Milani rose blushes. I had 2, but gave one to a friend. Really hard to part with lol.

  5. Beautiful! I've always wanted to try that foundation. LOL at "my bangs look weird"! Humidity and bangs is a tough combination! I had bangs until I was 17-18 and I live in Atlanta. I remember the struggle!

  6. When I see someone with perfect bangs in the summertime, I think they must be some sort of hair wizard because mine have a mind of their own and are uncontrollable. The struggle is real!

  8. Yeah, I think the PF powders often have just enough coverage to wear as foundation. They are really nice!

  12. Was looking forward to this! I definitely think your got the Bronze Goddess look down - it's just the version for us paler folk. :-) I've been seeing the Wet'n'Wild Comfort Zone everywhere lately - makes me sad I don't own it, lol.

  13. Very pretty! I can see why that foundation would be a repurchase, it looks really lovely and natural. I don't have bangs anymore, but when I did, they would always part in weird places of their own accord in humid weather. It's a thing, I guess. #bangproblems
