First Flowers of Spring

Snowdrops!

Crocus!

Okay, I cheated.  Those are in my neighbor's garden.  My crocuses are still pretty wee.  My neighbor's garden seems to get just the right amount of sun, and this particular spot always has the first flowers of spring in the 'hood.

My tulips are coming up nicely.  The leaves are poking up through the leaves on the ground from last fall.

See that?  They are actually piecing the leaf!

September Blooms

I felt like doing a garden post today since there are a few things blooming in my garden at the moment.

Turtleheads

The flowers really do look like little turtle heads, don't they?

Toad lilies
The blooms are kind of exotic looking

Sedum

Hydrangeas

Have a beautiful day everyone and thanks for visiting!

What's Blooming Today?

I have some new flowers blooming in my garden.

Heuchera (aka Coral Bells) with a Hosta in the background

Peonies next to the red Japanese Maple

Salvia (which is in a small bed in my backyard)

This one was actually a weed in my grass in the backyard, but I thought it was so cute that I moved it into the bed.  It will probably spread and cause lots of problems!

Tiarella (aka Foam Flower)

Purple Petunias in one of the pots with annuals
Spiderwort

Foxglove (which is one of my all time favorite flowers!)

Spring Flowers!

A non-makeup related post today just to mix it up.

I love gardening.  My mom's enthusiasm for it definitely rubbed off on me when I was growing up.  She has an amazing garden that is constantly growing and changing.  There is always something new in it whenever I visit.

I thought I would show you some of the flowers blooming in my garden at the moment (there aren't many yet since it's still been cold here in Michigan...).

Crocuses (my favorite spring flower since it's one of the very first to bloom)

Scilla

Pulmonaria (aka Lungwort)

Dwarf Iris (this one was almost done blooming when I took this picture, so it's not looking it's best...)
I wish I had some daffodils...

I can't wait for more flowers to come up and bloom!  What's growing in your garden?
