7th Wedding Anniversary

My husband and I are celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary today!

Our ceremony took place in the Butterfly House of the Detroit Zoo.

The veil is an heirloom that my grandmother, great aunt, mother, and aunt wore for their weddings.

Definitely the best day of my life.

Sniff sniff.  Thank goodness my husband had a handkerchief handy.

We have a little ornament picture frame with our favorite wedding photo hanging on the fridge.

Note: The pics of the weeding in this post are photos of photographs, which is why the quality isn't so great.  I probably should have dug out the cd with the photos on it, but I was feeling lazy.

We had a nachofest for dinner last night as our anniversary dinner.

Nachofest is seriouz biznezz in our house.

  1. Happy anniversary! How fun! Your veil is gorgeous--I love that it has held such an amazing place within your family, too. Heirlooms are the best.

  6. Thank you, Brianna! It was really spectacular and fun. We spent the day of the wedding, which was in the evening, at the zoo with all the family who made the trip to come to our wedding (which was everyone, actually).

  7. Thanks, Rebecca! It was fun, being slightly distracted by the little fluttering creatures. I think it kept people from getting bored. (Actually the ceremony was really really short and simple.)

  8. Thank you! We kinda went overboard with nachofest. We have enough left overs to have several nachofests this week, which is awesome, by the way.

  9. Thank you, Jennifer! As a child, I would often ask my mom to show the veil to me, just so I could admire it. It is a special piece of family history.
