Favorites of February 2015

We are finally out of the longest shortest month in recent memory.  The snowy weather and bitter cold has been brutal.  I mean, it would be less insulting if it was, say, mid-January, but late February and feels like -9°F?  C'mon Mother Nature.  (It's now the first week of March, and today it's a balmy 21°F (but feels like 7°F).)

Anyhow, it's time to focus on some good stuff, so let's get to some favorites.

Recent Lip Liner Aquisitions

I've been on a lip liner kick lately.  I think it's because I've been watching a ton of youtube makeup tutorial videos lately, and in almost every one, a lip liner/pencil is used.  I only owned 5 lip liners just a few months ago (I got rid of several ancient ones during a recent major makeup cleanout), and I seem to have added a few to my collection fairly recently.

I finally tore myself away from the Urban Decay Vice 3 palette.  I used the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette instead.

Surprise the Dragon Look of the Day

It's a day that ends in "y", so I thought it would be appropriate to use the Urban Decay Vice 3 palette on my eyes.  This time I used some neutrals on the upper lid, and the bright green shade "Dragon" on the lower lashline.  I thought the green pop of color on the lower lashline was sort of a surprise, which is how I came up with the name of the post.

China Glaze Sex on the Beach and Some Hearts

I have found a beautiful nail polish color.  It's China Glaze Sex on the Beach.  It's a rosy pink with some gold shimmer and very very tiny silver sparkles.

I have been wearing this nail color for weeks.  I used it for my Valentine's Day manicure, but added some little hearts from the Nicole by OPI polish in Love Your Life on my ring finger.

I was going to put the hearts on all of my fingers, but they were such a pain to get out of the bottle that I decided to just do the accent nail thing.  And, like all other polishes with large particles of glitter (I consider the hearts to be kind of like glitter), this was a chore to remove.

Those hearts look so pretty in the bottle, but, ugh, the fishing!

This is definitely a new favorite polish.

Throwback Thursday with Cosmedicine

Who remembers the skincare line called "Cosmedicine"?

Cosmedicine was a brand that was introduced in 2006 (I think), and was supposed to be a Sephora exclusive brand for at least five years after it debuted.  Unfortunately, I don't think the brand lasted that long.  At least, not as a Sephora exclusive.  I remember seeing it in Meijers (a grocery store chain here in the midwest) a few years later.  The brand is now defunct, as far as I can tell.

Spring-y Pinks with Urban Decay and Becca

I know it's only February, but I cannot wait for spring.  Maybe that's why I'm tending to use so many colors that feel spring-y (as in spring inspired, not elastic and bouncy).  Of course, I had to use the Urban Decay Vice 3 palette.
