Affordable Face of the Day

I recently did a face of the day post using nothing but high end/expensive stuff, so I thought I'd do one using nothing but stuff available at the drugstore.

Unzip the LORAC Palette for this Look of the Day

I kinda like the title of this post.  Slightly witty, I think.  The LORAC Unzipped Eyeshadow Palette is really really nice.  The shadows are lovely to work with, and there is a nice mix of mattes and shimmers/metallics.

Bronze and Marsala Look of the Day

I "Brokedown" and used the Vice 3 palette today.  Get it?  Get it?  Yeah, I'm still trying to be witty.

I am pretty much obsessed with the Vice 3 palette.  I'm not fond of using the word "obsessed" because of the way it gets thrown around these days, but I actually lie in bed thinking about what shades I can use together instead of counting sheep, so I think in this case "obsessed" might be an appropriate use of the word.

Mmmm Ganache Face of the Day

I finally tore myself away from the Urban Decay Vice 3 palette.  I used the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette instead.

My bangs would not cooperate.

Shimmery Copper Bronze Eyes of the Day

I love shimmery eye makeup.  (And the rest of the face, really, but lets stick to the eyes today.)

I used Mally Evercolor Shadow Stick in Topaz, a rich, shimmery, reddish coppery brown, as a base for this look on the lids and lower lashline.

Topaz is incredibly creamy, but "dries" quite quickly, so super fast blending is required in order to soften any edges.

I used the incredibly shimmery LORAC TANtalizer Baked Bronzer all over the lid, into the crease, and the lower lashline.  I actually prefer using this bronzer as an eyeshadow, and not so much as a bronzer on the face because it is SO shimmery.  I used theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer, a beautiful shimmery gold highlighter, under the brows and in the inner corner.

To darken the crease, I did use a matte shade.  It ended up looking not matte and pretty shimmery because it was blended into the shimmery bronzer shade.  I chose to use Sable, a matte warm chocolate brown, from the LORAC PRO Palette as the darker crease color.

For liner on my lower waterline, I used Tarina Tarantino Hyperliner in Tommy Jet, a black eyeliner.  Maybelline Full 'N Soft was the mascara I used.

I think this shot shows just how shimmery the Mary-Lou Manizer is as a highlight under the brow.

I tried to include the word "shimmery" as many times as I could in this post.  I'm not sure I used it enough, so... shimmery shimmery shimmery shimmery.  There you go.

Have a wonderful day, friends!!

Bronze EotD with pop beauty

I thought I'd show you my right eye for today's eye of the day post.  I usually show the left because I like the shape of my left brow better.  I wish they were more symmetrical, but they are sisters, not twins.

Products: pop beauty Bright Up Your Life eyeshadow trio in Naturally Bare
-- bronze shade (middle color in the trio) on the moving lid
-- taupe shade (far right color) in the crease
-- gold highlight shade (far left color) under the brow and inner corner

Milani Liquif'Eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil in Brown on the lower waterline

             Maybelline Full 'N Soft Mascara

I received the pop beauty Bright Up Your Life eyeshadow trio in Naturally Bare in an Ipsy bag a few months ago.  I'm not sure the name "Naturally Bare" is totally appropriate for this trio, because all of the shades have quite a bit of shimmer.  As you can see from the swatches, the shadows aren't particularly pigmented.  Especially the taupe shade.  Man is it sheer.  The bronze shadow actually ends up looking alright on the lid, and the light gold gives some nice shimmer.

I'm not sure I like the brown pencil on the waterline.  I think it make have a little too much red in it.  Ah well.

Have a beautiful day, and thanks for reading!

Bronze Eyes with Maybelline and Rimmel!

I love how sultry bronze eye colors can be.  I also think they make me eyes look kind of blue (warm colors give a nice contrast to blue eyes).

Face:  Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer in Bare
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Treatment Concealer in Fair
           Neutrogena Shine Control Powder
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in Milk Chocolate
Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush

Eyes:  Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze
Rimmel Glam'Eyes Mono Eyeshadow in Spicy Bronze (discontinued I think)
Wet 'n' Wild Color Icon Single in Creme Brulee
Tarina Tarantino Hyperliner in Tommy Jet
           Guerlian Maxi Lash in Noir

Brows:  Lorac Creamy Brow Pencil in Auburn

Lips:  L'Oreal Color Riche Le Gloss in Nude Illusion (I think-- name has worn off)

I got the Guerlain mascara as a sample from Sephora a while ago and I'm finally trying it.  It seems like a pretty good volumizing, wet mascara, but it has a really strong floral scent (it would be nice as a perfume).

Have a wonderful day!
