The eye palette is called Violet Storm, and it is still available on beauty.com for $32 USD. It's gorgeous. The blue shade is a little stiffer and less pigmented than the other shades in the palette, but I find the color shows up with no problem over a primer.
I only used the first four colors on the left, but I thought I might as well swatch the fifth color in the palette. |
Eyes: from the Violet Storm Jewel Shadow Palette
--- shimmery green on the inner 1/3 of lid
--- matte blue with glitter on the middle 1/3 of lid
--- shimmery purple on the outer 1/3 of lid and lightly in the crease
--- shimmery light shell pink in the inner corner
--- the same pattern of the three colors on the lower lashline
from the Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cheek Palette
--- shimmery light coral in the crease
Tarina Tarantino Hyperliner eyeliner in Tommy Jet (black) on the upper and lower waterlines
Mally Voluminous Mascara
Cheeks: from the Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cheek Palette
--- a mix of the top two shades in the palette (the shimmery peach and light coral)
I only used the first two colors on the left, but I thought I might as well swatch all four colors in the palette. |
Lips: Tarina Tarantino Conditioning Lip Sheen in Pendant
Tarina Taranino Gem Gloss in My Pretty
from left: Lip Conditioning Sheen in Pendant, and Gem Gloss in My Pretty |
My earrings kind of match the rainbow-ness of the eyeshadow:
I really love the way this turned out. It took a little longer to do than my makeup usually takes me, what with all the blending and such, but I think it was worth it.
P.S. These photos look weird to me -- like they've been airbrushed in certain areas. I don't retouch my photos. Does anyone know if Blogger does this automatically or something?
You've created an amazing eye look! Reminds me of the wings of a shimmery blue butterfly.
ReplyDeleteYour eye look is absolutely stunning. It's making me want to run (make my fingers run?) to beauty.com right now to grab that palette. That is very strange about the photos - I definitely see what you mean, they have kind of a "soft focus" look to them. Try this - go to your Google+ page, go to the settings menu (under the drop-down menu in the top left), scroll down to Photos & Videos, and make sure "auto enhance" is turned off. That might be the source of your mysterious glowiness, lol.
ReplyDeleteI love this look on you. Perfect for spring!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rebecca! The auto-enhance was set to normal, so I turned it off. Whew. I knew something was up because the photos looked different from how they look in iphoto. I don't think all my photos have looked "enhanced" in the past. At least I hope not. Thanks, again, for the help!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Erin! I love butterflies, so that is a huge compliment in my book.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tanya! The colors are quite spring-y, although you know I'd wear this any time of the year!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I love the colour gradient. You look just absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Chelle! I will admit, the blending was time-consuming, but totally worth it.
