What's on my Face Today?

The LORAC Croc Palette!  Which is of course discontinued now!  Boooooooo....  It is one of my all time favorite palettes, especially for fall.

Eyes:  LORAC Croc Palette
                  shimmery pinky nude under the brow and inner corner
                  shimmery rose gold all over the moving lid
                  shimmery dark copper in the crease and lower lashline
                  matte chocolate in the outer v and as liner on the upper lashes
          Benefit They're Real Mascara

Cheeks:  LORAC Croc Palette blush (dusty rose with a little sparkle)

Lips:  Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Demure

The Benefit mascara made my lashes look a little crazy.

I used flash for these two photos, which is why my skintone is so different.  I'm trying out different lighting so that when the sun disappears in the winter here in Michigan I can still take photos.

Tigers in the Playoffs!

I did Tigers inspired makeup a few days ago to celebrate the Detroit Tigers being in the playoffs (and being American Central League Champs!).  I hope this isn't the last time I get to do Tigers makeup for this year....

Understated Look of the Day

I was able to nab one of the limited edition Wet 'n' Wild Tough Girl (Beauty Army) trios at my local CVS.  I bought "Enlisting for Beauty" (which I had been looking for) which has a matte dark brown, a matte nude, and a shimmery taupe.  I used just the two matte colors for today's eyes.  I also used Josie Maran Cheek Gelee in Poppy Paradise, Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait, and Wet 'n' Wild Mega Protein Mascara (which didn't impress me, unfortunately).

What's Blooming In My Garden October 2013 Edition

I'm showing off the chrysanthemums (along with some other plants) that finally bloomed in my garden.

Here's what I've got in my little sun garden:

Chrysanthemum

Nepeta (aka Catmint) -- this one blooms all summer into the fall

In the flower pots some Snapdragons and Petunias are still blooming:

yellow Snapdragon

orange Snapdragon along with a purple Persian Shield

purple Petunia

And in the front garden:

Heuchera (aka Coral Bells) -- these re-bloomed (they bloom in early summer)

Foxglove -- these normally bloom in early summer, but this one decided to re-bloom

Hydrangea -- as the weather has gotten cooler and the days shorter, the blooms have 

                         turned a beautiful dusty rose

Here's what our carnivorous plant pot looks like:

We had to add a bunch of rocks to deter the squirrels that were digging up the plants.  The rocks ended up looking cooler then we expected!

Has a celebrity's makeup ever inspired you to copy it?

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color in Pink Fast Swatches

This polish is all kinds of awesome.

It gives opaque coverage in one coat, glides on smoothly, and dries super fast (like the name implies).  The color is a magenta metallic pink -- I think it would be considered a foil nail polish color.  I believe this is limited edition for Fall 2013, so look for it now!

I, of course, had to put this one on my toes too.

There are 6 colors in this collection (I think), and I got mine at Target for around $7.
