Some great wisdom from a chocolate wrapper.
Now, it's time for some kitty pictures. They were both checking out what I was doing with the camera.
Have a happy day!

Fun With Blush Placement
After seeing this gorgeous photo on chloeash.com, I really wanted to try wearing my blush super high on the cheekbones up by the eyes. I think it looks pretty cool.
I kept my eyes simple, using just a brown pencil smudged along the upper lashes.
Eyes: Milani Liquif'Eye Metallic Eye Liner Pencil in Brown
Benefit They're Real mascara
Cheeks: Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in Rose
Lips: Maybelline Color Sensational The Elixir lipgloss in Celestial Coral
Would you ever try wearing your blush like this?

Valentine's Day Date Night Look
Here's the look I did for Valentine's Day evening. Smokey but soft. And surprisingly not pink.
Eyes: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk (matte white) as base
Urban Decay eyeshadow in Gravity (sparkly purple) on the moving lid
Urban Decay eyeshadow in Zero (matte black) in the outer corner and crease and
lower lashline
Urban Decay eyeshadow in Naked (matte tan) in the crease to blend
Urban Decay eyeshadow in Virgin (shimmering champagne) browbone and tear duct
Tarina Tarantino Hyperliner eyeliner in Tommy Jet (black) on the waterlines
L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly mascara

Cheeks: Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in Milk Chocolate as contour
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Achiote on the apples of the cheeks
Wet 'n' Wild Fergie To Reflect Shimmer palette in Rose Champagne Glow on the
tops of the cheekbones to highlight

Lips: MAKE UP FOR EVER Lab Shine Diamond Collection lipgloss in D8
The MAKE UP FOR EVER lipgloss is quite sheer color-wise, but you can see from the blurry photo that it has tons of sparkle. It's not at all gritty, though, and feels nice and slick on the lips.
My husband and I ate nachos and watched a "House of Cards" marathon on Netflix. Perfect evening! (Did you notice my heart-shaped hoop earrings?)

Valentine's Day Manicure
Pink on pink for Valentine's Day. If I had some nail art tools (and was more steady handed) I would have attempted a heart or something. I think the pink tips with the pink base is cute, though.
I used CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in Pink-finity as the base color all over the nail, and Milani Nail Lacquer in Tip Toe Pink on the tips.
Anything special on your nails for Valentine's Day?

Valentine's Day Themed Face of the Day
It's time for some Valentine's Day makeup. Lots of pink, of course.
Eyes: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Strawberry Milk
MAC eyeshadow in Pink Venus
Urban Decay eyeshadow in Limit (from the Naked 3 palette)
Sonia Kashuk Dramatically Defining Gel Eyeliner in Ebony
L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly mascara
Cheeks: Stila Love at First Blush palette (limited edition from 2012 I think)
Lips: Starlooks Lip Pencil in Tickle Me Pink
This look actually started out much softer and more romantic, but then I went a little crazy with the gel eyeliner and it turned into something more dramatic.
I kept the lips matte (which is unusual for me) using just the Starlooks lip pencil. I think the lip pencil color looks lovely with the eyes, and I didn't want to change the color in any way.
I'll probably wear some sort of smokey eye look for the actual day of the St. Valentine celebration because my husband is such a big fan of smokey eyes.
What do you think of Valentine's Day makeup? Do you automatically think of pinks and reds?
Pics with flash show the pink shadow better

January 2014 Beauty Favorites
I'm a little late with this post. Maybe I should call it "The polar vortex/I'm fed up with winter favorites" post. Wait. That sounds like I'm fed up with winter favorites.
Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette -- I've been using this almost everyday either by itself, or in conjunction with some other shadows. My favorite colors: Limit (for the crease mostly), Nooner (to darken the crease), Buzz, and Trick. Blackheart is a great liner, too.
CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation -- I like the texture of this. It's smooth and thin and feels light on the skin. I would say it has medium coverage, but it can be built up for more. It doesn't separate or break down on my skin, and it seems to have good wear time.
Milani Illuminating Face Powder in Amber Nectar -- This has been a long-time favorite of mine. I've been using it more lately because I feel like warming up my skintone and pretending like I've been outside.
Maybelline Color Sensational The Elixir Lipgloss in 095 Blush Essence -- Balmy and shiny and a color that looks good with everything and I wear it almost everyday and this has turned into a run-on sentence.
Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ultra Lipstick in Rose Aurora (limited edition from spring 2012) -- This is so perfect with the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. The lipstick is a shimmery rose that compliments the colors in the palette wonderfully. Too bad it was limited edition.
Thanks for visiting and have an exquisite day!
I almost forgot a non-beauty related favorite! The new blanket my sister made for me! It's made of fleece, and one side is Detroit Tigers material and the other side is Michigan State Spartans material. How awesome is it?!
