What's on my nails today?

I love holographic nail colors.  They look so different in different lighting conditions that it is hard to keep your eyes off of them.

This is Color Club Nail Lacquer in Cosmic Fate, which is a warm peachy coppery color that is kind of hard to describe because the holographic effect is so strong and rainbowy.

I don't usually match my fingernail color and my toenail color, but this one is so pretty that I had to!

I got this a 8ty8beauty.com (not an affiliate link).

Zoya Nail Polish in Venus Swatches

Another Zoya polish today!  This one is called Venus.

Venus is a cool, metallic lavender with blue and silver shimmer.  It looks bluer in indoor light, and pinker in natural light.

Zoya Nail Polish in Happi Swatches

Zoya makes what seems like a million nail colors.  There are just so many from which to choose!  I have Happi to show you today.

Happi is a medium bright pink duochrome with gold shimmer and a slight green shift.

This applies very smoothy and dries quite quickly.  It was totally dry with two coats after about 10 minutes.  This color was opaque after two coats.  The brush is a narrow round brush.  Honestly, I prefer more flat, wide brush because then you can cover the nail with fewer brush strokes.

I think this is a really cool, unusual color that is great for spring and summer.  I looks sort of glassy on the nails I think due to the complex shimmer colors in it.

Zoya polishes are a 5-free formula meaning they are free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, DBP, or camphor.

CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in Pink-finity Swatches and Review

CoverGirl introduced some new nail lacquers not too long ago, and I decided to try one of the baby pink colors.

CoverGirl says:
  • Glossy color lasting as long as one week
  • Color with built-in top coat

The packaging reminds me of Chanel's nail polishes, except that the square cap doesn't pull off.

The brush is narrow and isn't flat on one side, so the brush strokes are thinner than some polishes and take a few more passes to cover the nail.

Pink-finity is a milky, cool pink that is opaque after 3 coats.

This does seem like quite a long-wearing formula that is nice and glossy without a top coat.  (I took these pics after 4 days of wear, and I have no chips whatsoever.)

This color applies streaky, but once it's opaque you can't tell there were any problems with that.  Other than the streakiness with this color, it applies smoothy.

I'm impressed by this nail polish and I want to try more of the colors (why not when they are $5?).

JinSoon Nostalgia

Celebrity manicurist Jin Soon Choi recently created a line of nail lacquers.  They come in 12 colors, ranging from light pink and nude to red, purple, and teal.  Since I don't have any true nudes in my nail polish collection, I decided to try Nostalgia, which is described as a pink beige.

Sephora says:  "A high-gloss, long-lasting nail lacquer with a chip-proof finish and a rapid drying time."

I have to agree with this description.  This nail polish is so glossy you don't even need a top coat.  Nostalgia gives opaque coverage in three coats, and dries quickly (three coats dries completely in about 15 minutes).  It comes in a square bottle with a pull-off top that reveals the screw-off top underneath.  The brush is wide and flat on one side, which makes it easy to get coverage on the whole nail with about three strokes.

You can see the brush is flat on one side

On me, it is a nude with a little pink to keep it from looking grey or overly beige.  I had a little difficulty capturing the color because there was no direct sunlight for the photos.  This is a cream finish with no shimmer.
I love this nail polish.  It elongates the look of my fingers and is a very elegant color.  Brights may be the trend for spring, but there is something to be said for wearing an understated nude every now and then.

JinSoon nail lacquers are a "five-free" formula, meaning they are formaldehyde, toluene, DPB, and camphor free.  They are $18 and can be found at Sephora.

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nude Shimmer

This is one of my favorite nail polishes.  It's Sally Hansen Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color in #420 Nude Shimmer.  It is metallic pinky light nude.  It has a mirror-like finish, and it's one of the few metallics I've tried that doesn't really show brush strokes.  It's so shiny and smooth!  The dry time is pretty quick and the wear time is excellent.  I love how the color elongates the look of my fingers.

Thanks for visiting!
