Throwback Thursday With Too Faced
Does anyone remember the Too Faced Couture Eye Shadow Luxe eyeshadows?
They had adorable packaging, and I remember the formula being pretty fantastic across the board.
The shape of the compact kind of reminds me of a meringue pie or cookie.
Socialite is a super pigmented deep sparkly shimmery copper. Gorgeous. It has quite a bit of sparkle, which produces a certain amount fallout.
I think I acquired this shadow in 2005 or 2006. I'm not sure when they were discontinued. Possibly 2010 or 2011.

Oil Change EotD
I took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation today. Cool story, bro. I felt like doing a really colorful eye using my Disney Ariel Collection Storybook Palette by Sephora after I got home to make the day a little more interesting (no, I didn't have the nerve to wear this to the dealership).
I used:
from the Disney Ariel Collection Storylook Palette
-- wanderin' free (peachy light copper) on the moving lid
-- sea witch (purple) in the outer corner and crease
-- sebastian (matte peach) up towards the brow to blend out sea witch
-- caspian sea (teal) on the lower lashline
-- sea shells (shimmery ivory) in the inner corner by the tear duct
L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara
Physicians Formula Eye Booseter liquid eyeliner in Ultra Black
Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Black Velvet (lower waterline)
Using the Ariel palette always makes me happy, but at the same time, I don't want to use it because it's so special.
It's absolutely a privilege to own a car, but sometimes getting around to maintenance type stuff is not particularly fun (#firstworldproblems). I often put off doing it, although now that I have a car that tells me how much oil life I have left, it will be easier to know how long I can put it off. :P

Holding On To Summer EotD
It's Labor Day here in the US, which is the holiday everyone associates with the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. But I am not ready for summer to be over. In the most serious way. I know this summer has been one of the hottest on record for the entire earth, so I'm sure there are plenty of people ready for autumn. However, our summer was pretty mild, temperature-wise. I personally love having at least a few scorching hot days each year just so it's obvious it's really summer. I even had to get out some sweaters a couple weeks ago. Bah.
Anyhow, I decided that I was going to keep using summery makeup colors for as long as I can stand it. I love fall fashion and makeup that is all moody and deep and jewel-toned and what not, so I will probably start transition to wearing them soon. But not yet! So, I used the Too Faced à la mode Eyes palette from their spring/summer collection today.
I used:
from the Too Faced à la mode Eyes palette
Jardin (coral pink) all over the moving lid
Soleil (reddish brown) in the crease
St. Tropez (cream with tiny glitter) under the brow and in the inner corner
La Croisette (ivory) by the tear duct
De La Mer (navy blue) as liner on the upper and lower lashlines
Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner in Fierce Blue on the lower waterline
L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara
I love the color "Jardin" from the Too Faced palette. It's such a pretty, feminine shade with enough gold shimmer to make it seem almost duo-chrome-y. Plus, jardin translates to garden. :)
So, are you ready for autumn?

Little BFTE Haul
I was perusing the BFTE (Beauty From the Earth) website and stumbled across a blush named "Babycakes". Now, this might be too much information, but "babycakes" happens to be what my husband and I call each other. I showed him the blush, and he actually told me I had to get it. The fact that it is a pink blush with little sparkles that I knew I would love was just a bonus. So, I placed a little order with BFTE (which is an indie company that has mostly loose pigment eyeshadows, blushes, and mineral face products). Here's what I ordered:
I bought a full size Babycakes blush. The full size blushes come in 10 gram sifter jars with 2 grams of product.
Here is Babycakes blush on my face:
I also bought 3 sample eyeshadows: Miracle, Heat, and Harvest.
I've swatched the eyeshadows dry and over Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy for your viewing pleasure.
Harvest just seems like a perfect color for fall. And just look at Miracle. Look at it!
Like the other BFTE stuff I have, I am impressed by everything I ordered. Also, shipping and turn around time was incredibly fast.
BFTE has an absolutely amazing array of colors, and it's hard to choose just a few to buy. I want them all, of course.
Do you have anything from BFTE? What colors would you recommend?

Eve's Kiss EotD with Sleek Garden of Eden
The name of this post is simply the name of the main color of eyeshadow on the lid called "Eve's Kiss" from the Sleek Garden of Eden palette. Creative, right?
I am really loving this palette, by the way.
P.S. Scroll down for some broken limbs.
With flash:
Daylight bulb:
I used:
from the Garden of Eden palette:
Eve's Kiss (shimmery sparkly lavender) on the moving lid and inner corner
Paradise on Earth (shimmery sparkly purple) in the crease
Python (shimmery sparkly brownish plum) in the outer v and lower lashline
Flora (matte plumish brown) in the upper part of the crease
Wet 'N' Wild Brulee Color Icon shadow single under the brow to blend Flora
Sonia Kashuk Long-Wearing Gel Eyeliner in Ebony on the upper lashline and lower waterline
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
I'm trying out the Urban Decay Perversion mascara that I got in my Ipsy bag (the only thing that excited me), and it seems pretty good. I'm not sure that it performs too much differently than Maybelline's Full 'N Soft though.
Some excitement and broken limbs from a couple of days ago (a storm with crazy wind passed through) :
Amazingly, thankfully, and luckily, nothing got damaged. Not even the Japanese maple (the little red tree in the photo) that looks like it got squished.
Were you expecting broken leg or arm pictures? ;)
Have a great day!
