Who remembers the Benefit Show Offs!?
These are beautiful loose powder pigments.
The packaging for these is pretty terrible. The tube container thingy is about the same shape and size as a MAC lipgloss. In other words, not a nice short, squat pot that is appropriate for loose powder pigments, but a tall and narrow shaped tube that has the tendency to tip over and spill the contents everywhere.
I can't find the name of either of these anywhere on the package. It's possible they had stickers on the bottom of the tube that fell off long ago. I'm pretty sure I had more of these, but I suspect they were nabbed by my sister.
I haven't been swatching or reviewing any of the "Throwback Thursday" items because many, if not all, are long discontinued, and I didn't think it would be helpful (or fair) for me to do so. Would you like me to, though?
I had a couple of these! I still might have one stashed away somewhere- think it was called Candy? or Bambi? Or Jackie? It was a pale pink with gold shimmer. They were one of my first-ever high end purchases! The packaging really was awful, but the powders were quite nice :)
ReplyDeleteBRB Scrolling through the entire Throwback Thursday tag! I wish I had kept some of my older items - all I have left is a very old Wet N Wild Polish ...that somehow still works quite nicely!
ReplyDeleteI have some other loose pigments in long, skinny tubes and they're AWFUL. I mean the pigments are nice, but that type of packaging is 100% guaranteed to create a mess. Anyway, RE: swatches, I know some people buy discontinued stuff on eBay and look to blog reviews to determine if those things are fake or not? So swatches might be helpful in that context? Depends on how old the products are, I guess. Well that and personally I like looking at pretty colors if you ever do find yourself with extra time to swatch. :P
ReplyDeleteI would love to see your whole collection! I bet it is amazing! You have some amazing collector items! Just think in 5 years, I can share my collector items.....LOL! I have been collecting now for almost a good year and half.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure one of the colors now in my sister's possession is the pale pink with gold shimmer (and I do think it was called Bambi, so, nice memory!).
ReplyDeleteI'm way too sentimental about makeup, which is why I have such a hard time getting rid of it. It's slightly shocking (and perhaps shameful?) how much really really old makeup I have.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. You're right. Pretty colored swatches are fun to look at even if they aren't useful.
ReplyDeleteI guess a lot of my old makeup could be considered "collector items" at this point. Sheesh. I have a makeup museum in my house. LOL!
ReplyDeleteOooo, yes! Swatches would be awesome! Never stop doing these posts, it's so interesting to look back at these products!

Ok, I'll start swatching the stuff. I still have lots of old makeup, so these posts should keep coming at you!
